De Boer in Midden-Limburg

 

De Boer (2016) is a theatrical soundwalk based on the stories of farmers living in Limburg. This is the second edition of De Boer. The first edition took place in 2015 in North-Holland at Karavaan Festival.

With a headphone on your head, you will meet the inner world of a farmer by a guided walk through his property. You will look through his or her eyes, listening to their stories and experience what it means to dedicate your life to this kind of work. It’s an acquaintance with the person behind the farm, with his traditions and how he relates to this earthly work. What are the struggles, what are the thoughts, how is his existence being perceived by the outside world?

‘De Boer’ is een bijzonder samenwerkingsproject tussen VIA ZUID, Loeren bij de Boeren/de Winning Limburg en de LLTB. Cultuur en samenleving komen hier op een unieke en persoonlijke wijze bij elkaar. VIA ZUID is de organisatie voor talentontwikkeling in de podiumkunsten die kunstenaars op weg helpt naar een zelfstandige beroepspraktijk. VIA ZUID doet dat door werk van de talentvolle nieuwe makers te (co)produceren binnen en buiten het culturele domein, binnen en buiten Limburg, samen met verschillende partners. VIA ZUID wordt geleid door talentmakelaar Jackie Smeets uit Grathem.
