The Womxn Circle

The Womxn* Circle Game
A collective game to transform untold experiences into tools for safety and support.

This game is a way to come together, to share stories, develop tools, dance, and sing as a form of empowerment. The tools you discover during the game can continue to support you in your daily life, ideally with others but also on your own.

The goal of the game is to explore, together, how we can feel freer and safer in public spaces. The tools encourage us to share our experiences and stories, understand different perspectives, raise our voices, honor our bodies, and exchange strategies.

The game is designed to be accessible, creative, and played in a space where you feel safe and comfortable.

The sharing of joy, whether physical, emotional, psychic, or intellectual, forms a bridge between the sharers which can be the basis for understanding much of what is not shared between them, and lessens the threat of their difference.” – Audre Lorde

WHO IS THIS GAME FOR?

This game centers the experiences of womxn* in public space, with a focus on safety and freedom. It’s specifically created for womxn*, and for anyone who has ever felt unsafe, unwelcome, or not free in public because of their gender, appearance, behavior, or the way they are perceived.

Cis men are not excluded. If you identify as a man and have experienced feeling unsafe or restricted in public spaces, you are very welcome. If you don’t directly relate to that experience, but you want to stand up for a freer and safer world for others, your presence is valued too.

Feel free to make your own choices. In the end, it’s up to those who play the game to decide who gets to step into the circle.

*The term womxn is used as an intersectional and inclusive term for “woman.” It includes cis women, trans women, femmes, non-binary and queer people.
